A big thank you to all our customers who have used us to draft their wills and have left a legacy for Cancer Research.
"To date across our two offices, we have raised £711,665 through pledged gifts in wills from supporters using the free Will service which we are very proud of," said Donata Crossfield, Wills and Probate Director at RG Law.
10 REASONS TO LEAVE A LEGACY TO CANCER RESEARCH UK
Our legacy service makes leaving money to charity in a Will straightforward for you and your clients. Here’s 10 reasons why your client may want to support our vital work into beating cancer.
1. Leave a legacy that saves lives
Your client’s pledges will help future-proof our research into beating cancer. As the world’s leading cancer charity, we’ve been at the heart of the progress that’s already seen the survival in the UK double in the last 40 years.
2. Fund pioneering research
We’re committed to spending at least £1.5bn on world-class research over the next 5 years, leading us to a world where everybody can live longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer.
3. Global and local impact
We’re the only charity fighting over 200 types of cancer. Our research is not only saving lives in yours and your client’s local area, but across the world.
4. A lasting legacy that helps future generations
Leaving a legacy is a powerful way to support our mission to beat cancer and provide the resources required to accelerate progress and see 3 in 4 people surviving their cancer by 2034.
5. Support a cause they care about
1 in 2 of us will get cancer in our lifetime*. We all know someone affected by it, or your client may have personal motivations for supporting the cause.
6. All gifts in Wills make a difference
We are grateful for any gift left in a Will, no matter how big or small. Residuary gifts are particularly impactful as they keep up with inflation, which often devalues a pecuniary gift over time, especially if the client goes on to live for many years after making their Will.
7. Potential tax benefits
Tax advantages are an important consideration when writing a Will. Bequests to UK-registered charities are exempt from Inheritance Tax so a gift to charity in your client’s Will could reduce the taxable value of their estate.
8. Exclusive events
From lab tours to choirs and jazz bands. We want to thank our dedicated pledgers and talk to them about the impact their gift could help fund. They just need to opt-in to our marketing communications to keep up to date with our latest progress, events, and updates.
9. Gift in Wills are a vital source of funding
Over a third of our funding comes from gifts in Wills. Your client will be able to make a difference to those that need it most as well as their loved ones after they’ve gone.
10. Our expert team is here to help
Each year we process over 6,000 gifts in Wills, making us the leading experts in the sector and our dedicated team are here to help you and your client with any questions you have along the way.
